How to Clean a Pen: Key Steps to Keeping Your Writing Smooth
Cleaning steps:
1. Prepare tools
First, you'll need the following tools: a soft cloth, warm water, a brush (or an old toothbrush), dish soap, and paper towels.
2. Disassemble the pen
Remove the nib section of the pen to better clean the inside. Different models of pens may have different disassembly methods, please refer to the specific product instructions.
3. Clean the pen tip
Use a brush to gently scrub the pen tip to remove dried ink and dirt. Be careful not to use too much force to avoid damaging the nib.
4. Clean the pen holder
Mix warm water and dish soap and wipe the pen barrel with a cloth to remove dust and dirt. Be careful not to let water enter the inside of the pen to avoid affecting the flow of ink.
5. Clean the ink bag
If your pen has an ink cartridge, you can clean it with warm water and dish soap. Gently shake the ink sac to let the ink flow out, then rinse it with water.
6. Dry pens
Use a paper towel to dry the surface of the pen, and then place it in a ventilated place to dry naturally. Be careful not to use a strong heat source such as a hair dryer to dry the pen to avoid damaging its structure.
Precautions
1. When cleaning the pen, be careful not to lose or damage parts.
2. Avoid using sharp objects to clean the pen to avoid scratching the surface.
3. After cleaning, make sure all parts are properly installed back into place.
